A quick Beer Note

My buddy Joe and I discovered a rather refreshing beer a couple of weeks ago.

Bowing to a bad habit that has occasionally served me well in the wine world, we chose this beer because we liked the label. It's called Great White Beer, from the Lost Coast Brewery in northern California. It's quite light, but flavorful, and really nice on a warm day.

The drawing of the surfer shark on the label is cute. But what really catches the eye is this text:
A crisp beer with a hint of citrus, made with two-row malted barley, unmalted wheat, a secret blend of Humboldt herbs, crystal clear mountain water, and ale yeast.
That highlighted phrase would be code, for those of you not from the area, suggesting some illicit substances reputed to grow in the hills of Humboldt County. I'm sure that's not what's in there, but it amused us enough to buy a six pack. The beer was good enough that I'll probably buy some more.

Um...where was I?

Oh, right: blogging.

I can't believe it's been a month. Much going on. Little family trips. Little family crises. The MLB All-Star Game (which I meant to write about, darn it). Deadlines on two different jobs. Oy.

But I know, that's no excuse.

On the other hand, I am just so glad I don't have to use Windows Vista.

I'll have more to write when I get to the other side of my deadlines, my wedding anniversary, and some record-setting (I hope) baseball games.
